Our Lady of the Rosary’s Jr. CYM is a program for youth in grades K – 2nd, 3rd – 5th, and 6th – 8th. We promote a positive Christian atmosphere and provide ways to help our youth know God through Sacred Scripture, faith formation, and community service. Each child is encouraged to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ in today’s world. Through various activities, we aid in the personal and spiritual growth of each young person drawing them into responsible participation in the Catholic faith community.

Our Lady of the Rosary is a comprehensive youth ministry program for teens in grades 9-12 with a strong focus on the Eucharist.  We seek to guide young people in the call to holiness by developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by meeting him in Scriptures, in the life and teachings of the Catholic Church, and in your own prayer life.  We strive to nurture in young people positive, Catholic values of love, honesty, courage, peace and nonviolence.  We help young people apply their Catholic faith to daily life experiences.  We aim to instill a lifelong commitment to the Catholic faith by guiding teens into developing a personal faith for continuing their growth as Catholics.  Our Lady of the Rosary Youth Ministry seeks to foster a personal spirituality and prayer life in young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

CHILDREN’S CCD MASS

Once a month, during the school year children from the 3rd to 11th grade can serve Mass as a class.   Children will serve as Choir members, greeters, readers and gift bearers at a Special Children’s Liturgy at the 10:00 AM Mass.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Children from ages 3 – 10 dismiss with a volunteer catechist before the 10:00 AM Mass to hear and learn about the scriptures.  The children reflect on God’s word in a way that is age appropriate.
In a culture that promotes selfishness and ingratitude, this ENDOW high school study group provides a much needed forum for girls to grow in understanding of their God-given dignity and vocation as women.  The study curriculum allows teens (14-18) to share their unique life experiences and embark on a journey to discover the truth about authentic feminism.  Through this study and prayer, the young women will inevitably grow in knowledge and virtue, both of which will help them better love and serve others.

Along with scripture and catechetical knowledge, the teens will learn practical tips for applying the church’s teachings to their daily lives.  Within the eight chapters, participants will discuss the nature of femininity and discover what it means to be created as women. They will have the opportunity to reflect on their personal development and character formation as well as examine their relationships with peers and the opposite sex.  If you are interested in the “True Beauty Revealed” program or have questions, please contact Sarah Pierce at 985-693-3123.  Informational meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1st, for 6:30pm, in the Saltillo Room across from the Holy Rosary school cafeteria.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Vacation Bible School begins on Monday, June 20th and concludes with a Closing Liturgy at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 24th.  Sessions run from 9AM to 12PM each day.  The theme this year is “Hometown Nazareth Where Jesus was a Kid.” Your child will explore what life was like when Jesus was a kid. Each day will uncover answers to such questions as:  What was it like to live in Bible times?  What was Jesus like when he was a kid?  Why didn’t people believe that Jesus was God’s Son?  As participants explore the various roles Jesus plays in their lives, they are engaged in exciting activities that will also teach them about life in Jesus’ time.  Students K – 5th grade are invited to join us for this summer program. You can register your child by visiting the church office or calling 693-3433 for more information.

In an effort to reach younger women, Endow has created a special Girl Genius program for young women, ages 10-13.  The Girl Genius study helps girls better understand their nature, dignity and special role in society.

Besides incorporating Scripture and catechesis in the lessons, the Girl Genius Program also includes group activities, “girl-time reflections,” and journaling sessions that focus on issues affecting middle school girls today (confronting culture/media; teen image/self-esteem, etc). Every lesson also highlights a young female saint who lived a life of holiness, despite the pressures and temptations of the world around her.
