CATECHETICAL INSTRUCTION (CCD)

As the religious educators of young person, the parents are the primary educators.  The catechists provide an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance, with time given to learning through the Religious Education Program.  Through open discussion, audio visual resources and prayer in a classroom setting, the staff members are the resources from which the above catechesis and sacraments are offered.

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Each and every time we celebrate one of the sacrament, we come face to face with the love, forgiveness and compassion of God.  We share in the command of Jesus to forgive one another as God forgives us, we share in that first fellowship meal of Jesus and His friends, and we witness our young people asking to ratify their Baptismal promis.

First Sacraments

Preparation for First Penance and First Eucharist consists of full participation in 1st and 2nd grade CCD or Holy Rosary Catholic of Religious Education.

Confirmation

The celebration of confirmation will be for students in the 11th grade.

This immediate preparation should help create a bond between the young person and the faith community.  Bridge the gap between Catholic Schools and the parish CCD Program, and involve the parents and families in the sacramental preparation and celebration.  The office of religious education provides this opportunity through retreats, special liturgies with family rites, service projects, and penance service

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)

The RCIA process was established for those adults who wish to join the Catholic faith or for baptized Catholics who have not yet completed the sacraments of Eucharist, Penance and Confirmation.  Adults, willing to share their faith and time with people as they journey in their search for God, are asked to sponsor and support our evangelization process by volunteering with the Office of Religious Education.

The RCIA process has also been adapted for children or young people, not baptized as infants, who have attained the use of reason and are catechetical age (RCIC)

Anyone interested in learning more about this process is encouraged to call more information.  Calling begins with an inquiry session with no obligation or commitment at that time.

ADULT EDUCATION
In the fall and spring, diocesan recommended adult courses are held in the areas of scripture, doctrine, and spiritual growth of all parishioners and allow Catechists the opportunity to receive Catechist Certification through the Diocesan Office.

Diocesan programs such as LIMEX, Hofinger Conference, Lay Ministry Program, Christian Unity Day honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Religious Education Day are available for continuing education and sp
